As a longtime subscriber of FabFitFun (FFF), I’ve seen the company go through quite a few changes—some great, some not so much. I signed up in 2016, and after nine years of seasonal unboxing, I’ve got a lot to say. If you’re considering a subscription or just curious whether it’s worth it, here’s my honest take.
What Is FabFitFun?
If you’re not familiar, FabFitFun is a seasonal subscription box filled with products ranging from beauty and skincare to home goods, fashion, and even pet items.
- Annual members ($219/year) can fully customize all items.
- Seasonal members ($69.99/box) can customize up to four items.
When I joined in 2016, the annual rate was $199. That $20 price increase over nearly a decade isn’t terrible, but I do think OG members should have been rewarded with a loyalty perk.
UPDATE! When writing this, I had no idea about the price increase to come. Maybe they saw my article and decided to make me eat my words. A new price increase will go in to effect. The price for seasonal is now $79.99 and annual membership is now $256.96.
Why I Stick with the Annual Membership
Customization is everything! With the annual membership, I get to choose every item in my box—no more receiving things I’ll never use. That alone makes it worth the investment.
FFF now offers products across multiple categories:
- Skincare & beauty
- Home decor & cleaning
- Pet products
- Jewelry & fashion accessories
- Wellness and fitness
There’s truly something for everyone—now. That wasn’t always the case. A few years ago, the product selection felt limited, and many customers (myself included) voiced frustration. Thankfully, FFF listened and improved their offerings.
How FabFitFun Helped Elevate My Skincare Routine
One of the best parts of FFF has been discovering up-and-coming skincare brands that have now become staples in my routine.
Through both box selections and their Add-On Shop, I’ve gotten high-end products for a fraction of the retail price—items I wouldn’t normally splurge on or even know about. My skincare collection continues to grow with each box, and I genuinely enjoy using what I receive. My skincare game became real strong thanks to FFF.

Where FabFitFun Falls Short
While I do love my boxes, I have a few minor complaints.
1. Lack of Surprise Extras
Other subscription boxes throw in fun little bonuses now and then. FFF? Not so much. Occasionally, you might get a deodorant or small soap, but even that’s rare.
As an almost decade-long subscriber, I’d love a little surprise during the holidays or as a token of appreciation. According to their social media, boxes are randomly selected to get bonuses—but that feels unfair to long-term, loyal members.
2. Limited Perks for Long-Term Customers
I’ve spent a lot with FFF over the years. A loyalty program or exclusive perks for longtime subscribers would go a long way. It would make the decision to renew each year feel even more rewarding.
Shoutout to Their Customer Service
On a positive note, FFF’s customer service is top-notch. In all my years, I’ve never received a damaged box or missing items. The few times I reached out, they resolved things quickly and kindly.
- I ordered lipsticks that didn’t suit me. They gave me credit, no questions asked.
- I picked a dress that was too big. They sent a replacement and let me keep the original.
Just a tip: Be honest. They likely track repeat claims, so don’t try to game the system.
Final Thoughts: Still Worth It?
Absolutely. My issues with FabFitFun are minor and not worth canceling over. Unboxing my box each season still brings me joy—and who doesn’t need a little joy in their life? Even with the new price increase, I will likely continue my subscription. As an OG member, I feel attached and can’t imagine life without them. I know I’ll have FOMO if I was ever to cancel my membership.
If you’re on the fence, I say give it a try. Look for a first-timer coupon online and treat yourself. You might just discover some new favorites along the way.
